Opening Dinner - A Quick Catchup

Greetings from Home@Thomson!

Two days ago, Friday the 10th of March, 2018, was Home@Thomson's Opening Dinner.
Of the many guests invited (56, to be precise), most of which we are not allowed to name for their own privacy, many were well known both on the local and international scene.

Here is a brief resume of how it went, hour by hour, along with a sneak peak at what the guests ate that night, which we normally never do.

8:30 - 9:00 PM: Guests start arriving.
9:00 - 9:15 PM: The chef goes around the room, asking our famous "food choice questions", to help him build up an individual, original meal from each guest.
9:15 - 9:45 PM: The chef and his team work hard to cook each plate he has decided he would serve for everyone. This is an exceptionally difficult process as it requires the chef to come up with individual entrees and main dishes for 56 people, in thirty minutes, and prepare them.
9:45 - 9:55 PM: The entrees are served to the guests, almost slightly impatient. Just on time!
9:55 - 10:30 PM: While our guests savor the entrees, the chef and his team strive to prepare the main dishes in time. They succeed, and even get a five minute break by this point.
10:30 - 10:40 PM: Entree dishes are taken back, and main dishes served.
10:40 - 11:30 PM: The guests delight in the main course, and finish around 11:30 PM. Meanwhile, the chef puts the finishing touches on the dessert.
11:30 - 11:45 PM: The owner of Home@Thomson, along with its celebrated chef, each make a speech to celebrate the opening of a project that has been a part of their lives for "many years already, and many years to come" according to the chef Alfred Bimbo-Baklava Joder.
11:45 - 11:50 PM: Main course dishes removed, desserts served, much to the delight of the audience.
11:50 - 12:50 PM: The guests of the opening dinner are treated to Swiss chocolates, Belgian waffles and a wide array of liqueurs from all over the world, now joined by the chef and the owner.
12:50 PM - 1:30 AM: Guests depart.

Yes, nights at Home@Thomson can get late. While Home@Thomson understands this isn't for everyone, late nights are an integral part to the Home@Thomson experience.
It is perfectly possible to get an early dinner at Home@Thomson, but we strongly believe this is not what the Home@Thomson experience is about. Late nights, slowly drifting to day, are what we are about.

We hope to see you soon!
